One of the best Blues Festivals in Oklahoma in 2009, and well worth the cost of admission! Excellent weather this year made for a big crowd, good food, and some awesome entertainment! Blues is as diverse as the color, and the artists proved this point many times over. A “big hats” off to the folks who worked with the youth in the Blues in the School program, and to those who made Idol part of the program, and the harmonica program was appreciated by all in attendance. Overall, this is a very positive image of our community, and one that will continue to grow with time and keeps our city on the front-page of quality events run by superstars who give of their time and talents to make Stillwater the well rounded yet diverse city it is. My hat is off and respect shown to all who worked to provide this great event. You and your work did not go unnoticed, or appreciated. It took many hours of planning, etc. THANK YOU VERY MUCH to everyone who worked to make this event a big success.

I have been to all of Stillwater's Blues Festivals. I really appreciate all of the hard work that goes into providing this *FREE* live entertainment to us every year. Now I am going to be somewhat of a spoilsport. While I know that Cris Duarte is a very talented musician the quality of listening to him in the deafening confines of the Community Center was disappointing. The volume levels were so high that the only time I could hear the percussion section was when they played a solo. Most of the time the music and lyrics were lost in way too much volume. I really enjoyed the local talent of Slick Willie and the Right Cats. The whole audience got involved in their sets. Not overly loud and good. I would really like for the Stillwater Blues Fest to try to bring more traditional blues acts to perform as part of the show. Thanks again. Bob

We had a great time playing at the festival. The kids before us did a great job and acted like old pros. The weather situation is something to learn from, I suppose. It would be great to be able to be flexible enought to move outside for the evening if the weather straightens up as it did part of the time. I realize what I'm saying, but some serious forethought might make it doable. And those who have complained about the sound should realize that the change of venue had a tremendous impact in that regard. I thought you all did a great job in difficult circumstances.

What a great festival!!! I heard no one complain about having to be inside and the music was absolutely awesome. Thanks for working so hard to keep the festival free!

I wasn't able to attend all the shows, in fact I was only able to attend the thursday and friday shows. I enjoyed seeing young people getting a chance to show off their stuff, and I took a lot of pictures for future reference. I only wish that the weather was nicer to be able to have it outside and maybe more people would have attended.

The Blues Fest was a great success even tho the rain force the music inside. Janiva Magness was wonderful. Enjoyed all the acts, although I think most people missed some of the better groups that performed earlier in the day. Thanks to all the sponsors who made it possible. The blues festival was awesome and plan to attend next year. Show casing all the different types of artists was great.

I worked at the Blues Fest on Saturday and enjoyed listening to all the music from the confines of my concession stand! I also enjoyed visiting with all the people who came to the event. It was a great crowd.

I really enjoyed the diversity of the various blues artists this year. Each of the blues acts had unique styles that was different from the others. I really liked the variety of the different styles of blues music presented. I regret that the weather forced the event indoors, however, I felt that the Lowery Center offered a pleasant, intimate surrounding. The event had a different "feel" than the outdoor event over the past years. I also noticed that staff worked hard to provide the food vendors indoor access to the audience. I am looking forward to 2009

My son and I came on Sunday PM to see the Blood washed Blues Band, the sound was more than bad, I dont mean to be critical, I know the weather made it tough, but we left after 2 songs because the sound was so loud and muddy, you couldnt even tell what the vocalist was saying. I noticed quite a few folks leaving before we did. Blood Washed was really done a disservice by the sound crew. It is kind of ironic, we expect musicians to be finely crafted and experienced in their art then just let anyone with a couple of thousand in equipment run the sound and basically dictate everyones experience. Please do better with the sound people next year, we love the Blues but that was just terrible, real wasted trip from Cushing.

Great show... and it was FREE! Drove over early Saturday from Locust Grove, went sightseeing, got my Eskimo Joe stuff and then to the community center.

I drove in from Tulsa to see Chris Duarte and Bluestone and they did not let me down. A great show as Chris always puts on. The festival itself was great beyond Chris...a free festival, with good surroundings and vendors. I'll be there next year! I wish I would have heard of this festival 1 0 years ago. I'd have been to them all. thanks and see you next year, Patrick
